Common Nails

Common nails handle the framing work on a dock build: joists, blocking, sheathing, and everything that gets covered up later. The critical spec is the coating. Hot-dipped galvanized holds up in treated lumber; electro-galvanized and bright steel do not, and they will telegraph rust stains through your decking.

We stock hot-dipped galvanized and stainless common nails in bulk boxes across the standard penny sizes used in dock framing.

For covered docks and boathouses, see roofing nails. For structural connections you may need to disassemble, use bolts instead. Browse all nails or send us a framing plan for a free material list.
